Overview
Nishikori is a former Madrid Open finalist. The most successful player in Japanese history, Nishikori won the Memphis open and reached the final of an ATP 1000 and 500 event. However, he has struggled against players in the top 10. The World No 6 has recorded only one win this year over a top 10 ranked player.
Clay is a favourite of World No 31 Fognini with all three of his ATP world titles coming on this surface. But the Italian has never gone past the second round of the Madrid Open.
