Kesha thanks fans on Instagram after releasing her first single in three years
Pop-singer Kesha launched her first single True Colours with electronic producer Zedd this week. After releasing her full track, the first in three years, the 29-year-old singer penned an emotional note on Instagram dedicated to all her fans and those who supported her during her long-standing legal battle with Dr Luke.
In a wordy post the Tik Tok hitmaker shared on the picture-sharing site, she said: "I have never been so full of gratitude in my entire life. There are really no words my loves." The accompanying picture showed the pop-star sporting her teal-blue hair as her hand seemed to cover her heart as a token of gratitude.
Kesha wrote the moving message not only for the immediate stardom who stood beside the singer as she fought her legal battles but dedicated it to all her fans worldwide. "Hand over heart tears in my eyes thank you," she shared.
She continued: "I couldn't fathom being on the other side. And here we are. Thanks to You. Every one of you. Please know that my gratitude is beyond words and I will remember this forever till the day I die (sic)."
Within an hour of writing this heart-rending post, the singer-performer released a teaser to the video of her new single True Colours with Russian EDM artist Zedd. Dressed in a black lacey outfit, the singer stared into the camera singing, "Higher than I see, something there for me, I am not afraid."
As the duo introduced their new track to the fans, Zedd posted on Twitter that this remake of the artiste's 2015 hit has been produced with due permission from Dr Luke's label Kemosabe. Earlier during the Coachella weekend, Kesha and Zedd performed their song live for the audience at the music festival.
Interestingly, the lyrics from the song: "No I won't apologise for the fire in my eyes. Let me show you my true colors. It ain't your rainbow," present the singer in her best spirits.
