Kim Jong-un: North Korea leader's 'punk' haircut and tiny eyebrows cause internet storm
Kim Jong-un has sent the internet into a frenzy after sporting a new elevated hairstyle and rather odd minuscule eyebrows.
The North Korea leader kept his trademark shaved sides but has decided to go punk.
His new hairstyle is said to be seen as a tribute to his father Kim Jong-il's gravity-defying style. However, one user on Twitter commented that he looks closer to 1990s pop star Vanilla Ice.
He unveiled his new look at a politburo meeting where he called upon his subjects to follow his father's example in all areas of their lives.
Ki Lee, founder and creative director of Korean salon Hurwundeki, said Kim's new look was created through a combination of perm and wax: "It's not too easy to do on Asian hair but we get a lot of people coming into the salon requesting this sort of volume," he told the Guardian.
Users on Twitter could not resist but comment at the tyrant's latest new do.
Last year North Korean embassy officials visited M&M Hair Academy in South Ealing after it mocked their leader by using a picture of him to promote its hairdressing services.
Owner Mo Nabbach alleged the two men used "threatening behaviour" towards him to take down the offending poster.
The poster featured the slogan "bad hair day?" beneath an image of Kim, and offered a 15% discount on haircuts. The embassy declined to comment at the time.
