Rising Pune Supergiants will take on Kings XI Punjab in the 10th match of the 2016 Indian Premier League (IPL) at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali, on 18 April, Sunday.

Overview

Kings XI Punjab will be looking for their first win of the season when they take on Mahendra Singh Dhoni's Pune Supergiants in Mohali and get themselves a foothold in the table. Both teams will be looking to put runs on the board, given the high scoring nature of the pitch and put pressure on the opposition. Punjab will be desperate to get some points on the board, having finished the last edition of the competition in the bottom spot.

Punjab have already lost two games on the trot and a major change in fortunes is required in every department if they have to keep their flag flying high in the competition. Their bowlers, who have struggled to give their best, especially experienced ones by the likes of Mitchell Johnson who have given away too many runs in the eight overs he has bowled, will have to perform.

Meanwhile, Pune have a win and a loss to show for in their last two games and will be desperate to get themselves in the fray in their first-ever season in the IPL. Dhoni's men beat Mumbai Indians in their first game but failed to get one over new entrants Gujarat Lions with the bowlers giving away too many runs in their respective spells.

Ishant Sharma and Murugan Ashwin were the main culprits in the game and the duo have to put in a much better performance if they have to lead Dhoni to yet another IPL trophy.
