Kolkata Knight Riders started the Champions League T20 on a brighter note by registering a victory over tournament favourites Chennai Super Kings. The reigning Indian Premier League champions continue their impressive run by sealing their second win against Lahore Lions on Sunday.
Gautam Gambhir won the toss and decided to field. Lahore Lions managed 151 runs for the loss of seven wickets. In reply, KKR skipper and his opening partner Robin Uthappa gave a good start to the IPL side.
The pair went on to put an opening 100 runs partnership before Uthappa was dismissed. Just when the Knight Riders were beginning to think it was going to be an easy win for them, they lost quick wickets. However, they finally managed to win the match against the Lions in the final over.
Perth Scorchers, on the other hand also registered a victory over the Dolphins in the opening match of the Champions League T20. It was Mitchell Marsh's brilliant effort in the final over that helped the Australian side register a win in the final delivery of the match.
Kolkata Knight Riders would be hoping to continue their brilliant run on Wednesday. However, the Scorchers would be keen on sealing their second win in the ongoing tournament in order to improve their chances of qualifying for the last four of the Champions League T20.
