Overview
Inform Knight Riders take on a resurgent Bangalore side in match 48 of the 2016 IPL season on Monday. Sitting pretty in second place, Knight Riders come into the game after cruising past Rising Pune Supergiants by 8 wickets on 14 May.
Kolkata, arguably have the most balanced squad in the competition, and with their top players hitting form, they will be a tough side to defeat going forward. With only three games to go, a win here will see them secure their presence in the play-off stages.
The best batting line-up in the competition showed once again why they are so feared with Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers thrashing the Gujarat bowlers all over the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on 14 May.
The duo put on a record partnership of 229 runs for the second wicket to help Bangalore register the biggest win in IPL history beating the Lions by 144 runs. Their bowlers for once did not disappoint, and got the Lions out for 104 runs in under 20 overs.
Chris Jordan especially looked impressive, picking up his career best T20 figures of 4 for 11 and skipper Kohli will hope that Bangalore keep up the momentum coming into the business end of the tournament. Royal Challengers will need to win all their remaining games to maintain a slim chance of qualifying for the play-offs.
