Krept & Konan interview: 'It felt surreal performing with Kanye West at the Brit Awards'
They were invited to join Kanye West on stage at the 2015 Brit Awards at the last minute so it is no surprise that UK rap duo Krept & Konan have admitted it was a "surreal" moment.
The Freak Of The Week rappers, who are preparing for the release of their debut album, The Long Way Home, were among the group of British MCs who joined the US hip hop star as he performed his single All Day at the awards ceremony in February.
Explaining what it was like to have support from West, 38, Krept, real name Casyo Johnson, told the IBTimes UK's A-List: "It was a bit surreal when we was on the stage, I was thinking Kanye's about to premiere his single and we're the ones on stage with him."
Reflecting on what that moment meant to the UK rap scene, Konan, real name Karl Wilson, explained: "I feel like it was good for the scene because Brits don't really support our scene, you don't see anyone from our scene on the Brits.
"So for Kanye to say these are the guys that I'm messing with and I'm here, that's a statement to the Brits to say we appreciate these guys and you should as well."
Following on from their critically acclaimed 2013 mixtape Young Kingz, the Certified hitmakers will be releasing their album on 6 July.

It will feature a host of collaborations with the likes of Rick Ross, Wiz Khalifa, Emeli Sande, Jeremih and Ed Sheeran. Their collaboration with former One Direction singer Zayn Malik does not feature on the album.
Addressing their song with Brit-winner Sheeran, Konan revealed the Thinking Out Loud singer put it together in no time.
He said: "We played him one of the songs that we [had] and he was like, 'Is there a hook for this? Can I get on this?' I said do your thing! He went in the booth and he knocked it out in about 15 minutes."
The 25-year-old rapper said of the album: "We just wanted to make music that you'll listen to and if you're coming home you want to hear it, so you take the long way home to listen to it.
"It's one of those albums you need to finish, you can't just half-heartedly listen to it. Every song is special in their own right."
Krept & Konan's album The Long Way Home is set for release on 6 July and their new single Freak Of The Week is out on 28 June.
