Kristen Stewart and girlfriend Stella Maxwell crash same-sex wedding at pizzeria
The newly-weds said that despite the actress' presence, they still felt like the 'guests of honour'.
Kristen Stewart has joined the likes of Tom Hanks, US President Donald Trump and Beyonce and turned a celebrity wedding crasher. The actress and her girlfriend Stella Maxwell popped in on a same-sex wedding and partied with the newlyweds.
Kirsten and Kayleigh Jennings got married on 22 July and kicked off their reception at a pizza parlour called Pizzeria Gusto in Winipeg, Canada, when who should enter but the Personal Shopper star and her New Zealand model girlfriend.
The brides told E! News that the celebrities joined in the celebrations and posed for photos. "For us, we wanted to make sure they didn't segregate themselves and interacted with everyone," Kayleigh said. "Hopefully they felt normal and had fun."
Kirsten recalled how the DJ decided to play a track by one of Stewart's favourite bands, the Beastie Boys. "She pulled up with Stella and we were introduced to them. At one point, someone asked her what kind of music she liked and she said, 'I love the Beastie Boys' so they played some Beastie Boys."
Despite having the 27-year-old at their party, the brides said they did not feel like their spotlight was stolen. "The best part was everyone still made us feel like the guests of honour," Kirsten explained.
"It was complimentary to have her there but we just tried to keep it as normal and casual as possible," Kayleigh added. "They were just trying to have a good time just like the rest of us.
Stewart is in Canada filming her latest project JT LeRoy, alongside Diane Kruger and Laura Dern. The film follows the story of a young woman named Savannah Knoop who spends six years pretending to be the celebrated author JT LeRoy, the made-up literary persona of her sister-in-law, writer Laura Albert.
