Almost a dozen cars parked on the frozen Lake Geneva ahead of the Winterfest in Wisconson have fallen through the ice. Emergency crews arrived at the lake after the vehicles became partially submerged in the water.
Lake Geneva began trending on social media as locals posted pictures and video capturing the unusual sight on Twitter, showing the cars half way under the ice.
The Winterfest in Lake Geneva is an annual snow sculpting event and competition. While human sled racing is included among the winter sports events at the festival, an annual car swimming race was not intended to be part of the itinerary.
