Lancashire Police Dogs Get Their Own Facebook Page
A crack canine police team have had their chronicles exploited on their very own Facebook page.
The page features pictures of the Alsatians, springer spaniels and Labradors that are members of the Lancashire Police Dog Unit, and describes the law enforcement operations they have been involved in, including drug busts and VIP security operations.
"We find that residents are always really interested to see our police dogs. Facebook provides us with an opportunity to inform these residents about the work the dogs are doing to keep them safe," said Sergeant Neil Fitzgerald of the dogs unit.
The Facebook page also features videos and photos of young 'Potential Police Dogs' as they undergo their training. This includes searching for hidden treasure, and playing - quite aggressively - with a ball.
The dogs are not known to have plans to start tweeting.
