Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri presented with sausages named after him
Foxes manager Claudio Ranieri was presented with a plate of sizzling sausages on 1 April, as a local radio presenter made good on a promise. local butchers W Archer & Son delivered the sausages – named after the Leicester boss – at a press conference ahead of their match against Southampton on 3 April.
The sausage story dates back a few weeks, when BBC Radio Leicester's Ian Stringer informed Ranieri that a local butcher had named a sausage after him, to which the Italian – who used to work at his dad's butcher shop – replied: "It is good, a good sausage. If there is enough chilli, it is good."
When asked if he would provide some sausages for his team like he had with pizza, he said: "You bring the sausage to everyone. I pay pizza, you pay sausage. I have never had anything named after me, just this sausage. Sausageman!"
