LG Nexus 5 (2015) leaked image shows final design with fingerprint scanner
Update: 8 September
AndroidPIT has managed to obtain access to the new image from a different angle for the LG made Nexus 5 that is tentatively called Nexus 5X. The Power and Volume rockers are placed on the same side. Along with the design, the latest leak shows how much the camera protrudes from the back of the device.
Original story
Amid rumours of the next-gen Nexus phone manufactured by LG, surfaced a leaked image depicting the final design of the device dubbed Nexus 5 (2015), or Nexus 5X for the retail. Don't forget that Huawei has even confirmed for its version, which has been already spotted in earlier leaks.
The legitimacy of the image was confirmed by Android Police after it was first posted by AndroidPIT, which claims to have obtained it from an unnamed reliable source. The image below shows only the back side of the device with a Nexus logo, the circular fingerprint scanner, a dual-LED flash, laser auto-focus module and a camera which is expected to be of 13 megapixels. These are something similar to what we have seen in the render coming from notorious Twitter leakstar, OnLeaks.
As for other hardware specifications, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 808 chip will drive power for the handset, coupled with Adreno 418 graphics unit. Expect a 5.2in full HD screen, which is quite fine as the lower display resolution will save some power while keep the system running smoothly.
There will be a Type-C USB port and a 2700mAh battery inside, against the 2300mAh used in the Nexus 5. It will come in 16 and 32GB storage variants with three different colour options such as black, white and blue. Google has reportedly scheduled a media event on 29 September in San Francisco to introduce its flagship Nexus lineup made by LG and Huawei respectively.
