Liam Hemsworth learnt about split from Miley Cyrus via social media: Report
The actor didn't expect his and Miley Cyrus's separation to go public and was reportedly "blindsided" by the social media post announcing their split.
Liam Hemsworth came to know about his split from singer Miley Cyrus at the same time as rest of the social media users, a report says.
According to Page Six, Liam Hemsworth didn't expect his and Miley Cyrus's separation to go public and was "blindsided" by the social media post announcing their split. Cyrus released a statement regarding their separation on social media on August 10, and that's how the actor got to know about it, the report claims.
"Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time. Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what's best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy," the statement read.
According to the report, the 29-year-old actor was in Australia at the time and was blindsided by the statement. He didn't publicly address the split until days later. Three days later he posted: "Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward."
Hours after her statement, images of the pop-star smooching new girlfriend Kaitlynn Carter surfaced on the internet. She also shared a cryptic post on social media and wrote: "Don't fight evolution, because you will never win."
Later in a thread on August 22, the actress spoke about her relationship with "The Hunger Games" actor and said she "loves Liam" and always will. She also denied reports that their marriage broke because of her cheating.
She posted a series of the unconventional things that she has done.
"BUT at this point I had to make a healthy decision for myself to leave a previous life behind. I am the healthiest and happiest I have been in a long time. You can say I am a twerking, pot smoking , foul mouthed hillbilly but I am not a liar," she tweeted.
On the professional front, Cyrus featured in a music video for "Charlie's Angels" alongside Ariana Grande and Lana Del Rey.
