Lip Sync Battle sneak peek: Jason Derulo channels Rick James while performing Super Freak

Think Jason Derulo and what comes to mind is the chorus of his hit number Wiggle or perhaps even Talk Dirty. What you don't imagine is the singer sporting a beaded wig and wearing a chest-baring sparkly jumpsuit.

But the 26-year-old singer/dancer decided to channel Rick James while on Lip Sinc Battle and we just couldn't keep our eyes off those shiny black tights, especially when he showed off some pelvic thrust moves.

In the sneak peek released by Spike TV, he performs the king of punk-funk's Super Freak, complete with a bevy of beautiful girls dancing around him and a park bench similar to the one featured in the original 1981 video.

In this week's episode of Lip Sync Battle, hosted by LL Cool J and Christine Teigen, Derulo will face off with Katharine McPhee from CBS's Scorpion, who has got singing creds as one of the runners-up on American Idol.

Derulo recently also hosted and performed at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, which took place on 3 March in California. He was nominated in the "biggest triple threat" category but lost to Selena Gomez. The Want To Want Me singer performed at the event his brand new single If It Ain't Love, which was released on iTunes recently.

Lip Sync Battle season 2 episode 11 will air on 7 April at 10pm ET on Spike TV.
