Little Mix reduce radio host to tears after One Direction storm-out
An Australian radio host was reduced to tears after Little Mix stormed out of their interview – but it turns out it was all a prank concocted by the girl group. Jackie O asked the British group for their opinion of One Direction and Justin Bieber releasing their albums on the same day, prompting the singers to walk out of the studio.
The Black Magic singers appeared on Kyle and Jackie O's radio show to promote their third album Get Weird but feigned irritation when the topic turned away from their music. Host Jackie O asked: "Your [album] is out on 6 November. I think a week later they are doing that whole One Direction versus Justin Bieber thing there on the 13th. What do you guys think of the 1D-Bieber thing? Have you got any opinion on it?"
Little Mix member Jade Thirlwall replied: "To be honest I'm sick of talking about it, to be fair." Stunned by the singer's reaction, Jackie O said: "Really? Do you get asked a lot about Justin Bieber?" Bandmate Jesy Nelson snapped: "We're here to promote our single so we don't want to talk about Justin Bieber."
Pretending to grow frustrated, Thirlwall stated: "It has actually really p****d us off. We want to talk about our music and then we get asked about him all the time, I mean, what's the point? What is your point? I'm serious. I said I didn't want to talk about it."

Jackie O insisted she was unaware of any tension between Thirlwall and Bieber or One Direction, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, who was in on the prank, attempted to ease the situation, explaining: "It's OK you didn't know, There's an issue going on." At which point, Thirlwall storms out of the studio and can be heard saying off-camera: "I thought we told them not to talk about it."
The Love Me Like You singers then rushed back into the room and revealed it was all a prank, but Jackie O had already burst into tears. Feeling guilty, Perrie Edwards exclaimed in shock: "We made her cry!" After composing herself, Jackie O admitted: "You acted out that so well. I love a good prank, so well played."
One Direction could easily be a sore subject for Little Mix given that Edwards split from former 1D star Zayn Malik in August 2015. However, the girl group are known to be on good terms with the remaining members Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan, with Payne keen to write songs for the girls' next album. 1D and Bieber, 21, are set to become embroiled in a chart battle on 13 November when both release their respective albums Made In The A.M. and Purpose.
