Spaniard Hands Advice To Liverpool's Teen Star
Jose Enrique says he is telling Suso to keep working hard and he'll be a star for Liverpool
Jose Enrique has been full of praise for Liverpool youngster Suso, with the striker impressing in the side's massive match-up with Manchester United at the weekend.
Suso received his first senior start for the Reds in the Europa League last week, and was given the opportunity to play against United as Brendan Rodgers continues to experiment with his attacking line-up.
As soon as the Spaniard came off the bench, he had an impact on the game, and coped well with the pressure of the big occasion.
The 18-year-old has shown he will be a star of the future for Liverpool, if not in the present.
And Suso's fellow Spaniard Enrique says the teen could play for any club in the world with his talents.
"I know Suso well because we speak Spanish together and I think he is a top player already," he told the Echo. "He can be a really top player for Liverpool and for any team in the world.
"I tell him he has to work very hard in the Premier League and work back like all the other players. That is very important, but I tell him if he works hard he has all the qualities.
"I think he is ready now. We saw that against Manchester United. He played very well. We knew Raheem Sterling was confident because we have seen him play a few times already, but he surprised me by trying all the things he is trying in matches."
Liverpool will be continuing to look at their attacking options after a disappointing transfer window left them with limited strikers.
The youngsters at the club have been given a chance to step up and show they are capable of moving into the first team before the January transfer market opens.
The likes of Sterling and Andre Wisdom have been touted as players to watch this season, and Rodgers has been very open about giving the younger stars the confidence to stand tall next to their senior teammates.
