Liverpool: Jurgen Klopp includes Sergi Canos in first team ahead of Reds' visit to the Hawthorns
Jurgen Klopp has added Sergi Canos straight into the first team following his return from a successful season-long loan spell at Brenford. The winger put in some impressive performances during his stint with the Championship club, scoring seven goals and providing five assists in 38 league appearances.
The German manager has indicated that the Spanish attacker could feature when Liverpool travel to the Hawthorns to take on West Bromwich Albion in their final game of the season on Sunday (15 May). Klopp is likely to make a number of changes and rest key players owing to the game's close proximity to the upcoming Europa League final against Sevilla in Basel on 18 May. The likes of Philippe Coutinho, Daniel Sturridge, Roberto Firmino, Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren are likely to be rested after they all started in the midweek (11 May) game against Chelsea at Anfield.
Canos was one of the few players the former Borussia Dortmund manager allowed to remain on loan following his arrival at the club, as he made it clear that top young talent from the Liverpool's academy was to remain at the club and develop as part of a team rather than as individuals at another club.
Klopp has also given a ringing endorsement of his achievements with Brentford, which is likely to see him make his debut for the Merseyside club sooner rather than later.
"Sergi will be training tomorrow because he is back with us. He knows more about English football and it's possible he's available for Sunday. That's unbelievable and great," Klopp said, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.
"We will see how he feels. He did really good at Brentford and had a lot of time to play. For him it was really good. The Championship is a really strong league and he did well," the German coach added.
