Liverpool are once again considering a move for Barcelona outcast Tello, according to local media sources. However, if the Premier League outfit do enter the race for the Spanish winger they will have to fend off competition from Fiorentina, as the Serie A side want the player's services on a permanent basis after impressing on loan last season at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

The 24-year-old was at one point considered one of the best talents in the prolific La Masia academy, being promoted to the first team by Pep Guardiola. In January 2014 he reportedly attracted the attention of Brendan Rodgers, with the then Liverpool boss looking at him – along with Mohamed Salah and Yevhen Konoplyanka – in his hunt for a winger.

Those reports resurfaced in the summer of 2014 after it was alleged Tello was after a move from the Nou Camp, with his playing time cut down heavily following the arrival of Neymar. Everton were also said to be interested, but the Spaniard instead opted to move to Porto, reuniting with his former U21 national coach Julen Lopetegui at the Portuguese outfit.

The winger scored 11 goals and provided 12 assists in 62 appearances for the club but in January 2016, following the dismissal of Lopetegui, he decided to break the agreement and spend the second part of the campaign at Fiorentina.

Tello has not returned to Barcelona yet, and Marca reports he is still keen to move away as he is fully aware of the lack of playing time he will experience alongside Lionel Messi, Neymar and Suarez.

The Spanish publication says Fiorentina are after him on a permanent deal, but Liverpool and another, unnamed, Premier League club are interested in luring him to England.

Marca points out Liverpool were already interested in his services when he moved to Porto and new manager Jurgen Klopp is understood to be a big admirer of his talents.

However, it continuesthat the suitors may need to wait as Barcelona do not want to part ways with the player until they find a new forward to serve as back-up to the MSN trio as Sandro Ramirez has already been released. Then, amid reports linking them with the likes of Nolito and Kevin Gameiro, the La Liga giants would be ready to cash-in on the winger for just €7m.
