Liverpool will take on AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League clash at Anfield on Monday, 17 August.

Where to watch live

Kick-off is at 8pm BST. Live coverage of the match will be available on Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 1 HD.

Overview

The clash against Bournemouth will be the Reds' first home game of the 2015/16 season. Brendan Rodgers has made several signings in the summer transfer window and he will be hoping they can help Liverpool seal their second consecutive victory.

In the previous fixture, Philippe Coutinho's brilliant strike in the final quarter of the game against Stoke City gave the Merseyside club their first win in the opening match of the season.

After a disappointing 6-1 defeat to Stoke City in the final game of last season, it was very important for Liverpool to start the new campaign on a brighter note. They have managed to do it and will be hoping to seal another victory over Eddie Howe's side on Monday.

Meanwhile, Premier League newcomers AFC Bournemouth suffered a 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa in their first match of the season. Rudy Gestede came on from the bench to score the only goal of the match.

Howe has admitted that his side will not try to outplay Liverpool as they are in search of their first win in the Premier League.

What managers say

Brendan Rodgers: "Firmino is building up his fitness really well. He's a guy that helps himself because he trains to the maximum every single day and he's coming along very, very well."

Eddie Howe: "Our aim is not to outplay Liverpool, or outpass Liverpool, or any nonsense like that. Our aim is to try and win the game. The football really is irrelevant, it's about finding a way to be competitive."
