  • Injury-time header from Dejan Lovren seals Liverpool comeback
  • Dortmund led 3-1 on the night after Marco Reus' 57th minute strike
  • Divock Origi, Philippe Coutinho and Mamadou Sakho all struck for home side
  • Liverpool join Villarreal and Shakhtar Donetsk in semi-final draw
  • Sevilla vs Athletic Bilbao gone to extra time

Elsewhere tonight, Sevilla vs Athletic Bilbao has gone to extra-time with the contest tied at 3-3 on aggregate. Villarreal and Shakhtar Donetsk have booked their places in the final four with easy wins over Sparta Prague and Braga respectively.

Liverpool are in the semi-finals! From 3-1 down, they have dismissed competition favourites Borussia Dortmund in stunning fashion.

FULL TIME:

Liverpool 4-3 Borussia Dortmund (Liverpool win 5-4 on aggregate)

Liverpool have done it! Dortmund are asleep as a free kick is taken short to Sturridge. He moves it up to Milner who digs out a sublime cross from the byline over towards the far post where, of all people, Dejan Lovren is crashing in to nod home.

Goal! Liverpool 4-3 Borussia Dortmund (Dejan Lovren, 90+1)

Four minutes of time added on. Four minutes for Liverpool to find the goal that will send them into the semi-finals.

Allen breaks into space down the channel but Milner overhits his pass and the chance slips away. Into the final minute of the 90.

Athletic Bilbao meanwhile have taken the lead at Sevilla. That game is going to extra-time if things remain the way they are.

Five minutes of the 90 left. A goal for Liverpool will be enough to see them through.

Milner lifts a free kick in from deep that floats over to Lovren, who has peeled off his marker into plenty of space. Instead of taking the ball down, he goes for the volley, but lashes a wild effort well over.

Dortmund use their last two subs as Gundogan and Ramos come onto replace Castro and Reus.

The injured Emre Can trudges off, he is replaced by Lucas.

Liverpool are level on the night! Coutinho's corner is flicked on by Lovren and Sakho has darted away from his marker to nut it past Weidenfeller. Dortmund still lead on away goals, but they are rocked.

Goal! Liverpool 3-3 Borussia Dortmund (Mamadou Sakho, 77)

Here's a change for Dortmund and it's a defensive one, with Ginter coming onto replace Kagawa.

There's concern for Emre Can at the minute, he is rolling around in pain and looks in real discomfort as medics come on for treatment.

Instead, it's played short and teed up for Clyne who hammers a shot on goal, but watches a deflection carry it out for a corner.

Piszczek is booked after fouling Coutinho off the ball. Liverpool can launch this one into the box...

Sturridge now breaks into loads of space down the inside left channel with Origi offering an option inside. the Liverpool striker slides a ball across goal but it is far too close to the goalkeeper who springs out to collect.

A few updates from the rest of our games; Villarreal are cruising into the semi-finals, they lead 4-1 on the night, 6-2 on aggregate, while a goal from Viktor Kovalenko has extended Shakhtar's lead against Braga. It remains finely poised in Spain where both Sevilla and Athletic Bilbao have scored on the night, but the Andaluscians hold a slender lead over two legs.

Sevilla 1-1 Athletic Bilbao (3-2 on aggregate)
Sparta Prague 1-4 Villarreal (2-6 on aggregate)
Shakhtar Donetsk 3-0 Braga (5-1 on aggregate)

Liverpool have one back! It's a wicked finish from Coutinho, who exchanges passes with Milner on the edge of the box before rifling one into the bottom corner.

Goal! Liverpool 2-3 Borussia Dortmund (Philippe Coutinho, 66)

Changes for Liverpool, Joe Allen replaces Adam Lallana and Daniel Sturridge enters the fray, replacing Firmino.

Stunning finish from Reus! See how I was just questioning Hummels getting forward too much? Ignore that, he's picked out Reus with an excellent through ball down the inside left channel. He brings the ball into the box and guides the ball around Mignolet and into the far corner. Are we done here?

Goal! Liverpool 1-3 Borussia Dortmund (Marco Reus, 56)

There's a relentless pace to this game at the minute, Mats Hummels is rampaging forward on almost every occasion, looking to get involved in the attack. I'm not quite sure why, Mkhitaryan, Reus and Aubameyang aren't bad at that lark.

Hummels is shown the most obvious yellow card you'll ever see. On the break, Coutinho flicks the ball around the Dortmund skipper who is left flat footed and throws the Brazilian to the turf as he threatens to break away.

Mkhitaryan cuts across menacingly from right to left, looking for room to pull the trigger but Moreno sticks to him and eventually forces the ball away.

Anfield is bouncing again and Liverpool are winning every second ball at the minute.

Clyne lashes a shot on goal from outside the box that takes a deflection on its way out for a corner. Dortmund clear but the ball is coming straight back.

Liverpool pull one back! Excellent move from the home side as Can pokes a neat ball through for Origi who keeps his cool and slots through the legs of Weidenfeller. Game on.

Goal! Liverpool 1-2 Borussia Dortmund (Divock Origi, 47)

Castreo narrowly avoids a booking after a strong sliding challenge that takes Coutinho clean out.

And Dortmund get us back underway for the second half.

HALF TIME:

Liverpool 0-2 Borussia Dortmund (1-3 on aggregate)

Make that 2-0 to Villarreal too, with Castillejo lashing one home from the edge of the area.

Shakhtar look like they are cruising into the final four, they have taken a 2-0 lead against Braga thanks to an own goal from Ricardo Ferreira.

Five minutes until half-time, Liverpool need three to progress here but they are making plenty of chances for themselves.

Now Coutinho and Firmino work the ball between them nicely on the edge of the box but the former lashes his low drive wide. Liverpool get the corner, but Weidenfeller punches away.

Firmino does brilliantly 30 yards out, nutmegging two Dortmund players to work half a yard of space for him but Sokratis gets across just in time to intercept.

Dortmund pass up a chance to add a third! Excellent interplay from Kagawa, Reus and Aubameyang bewilders Liverpool but a ball across the latter's path has just too much on it and the Gabon international can't get any control on his shot, slicing wide.

Piszczek does brilliantly down the right flank, beating his man and cutting up the byline before arrowing an inviting ball across goal. Aubameyang is waiting hungrily in the six yard box, but Mignolet gets the slightest touch on the ball to deflect it away from him.

Shakhtar Donetsk have also taken the lead tonight, they now lead Braga 3-1 after a goal from Darijo Srna from the penalty spot.

Sakho saves Liverpool! The home side lose possession and Reus again slides an inch perfect ball through for Aubameyang, who is cutting in from the left. Just as he is about to pull the trigger, Sakho slides across to make a vital block and Mignolet can collect.

Close again from Liverpool! Origi's effort flashes across the face of goal after a powerful run down the flank from Milner. Liverpool are making chances here.

Elsewhere, Villarreal have taken the lead at Sparta Prague through Bakambu. They noe lead 3-1 on aggregate.

This is promising from Liverpool. Coutinho is given space to run into and sneaks a ball into Firmino who twists and turns inside the box, looking to find a drive with his right foot. Instead, he cuts it back to Lallana, but he gets it all wrong, connecting with nothing but air with a wild swing, allowing Dortmund to clear.

Another neat run from Oirgi, he picks up the ball inside the box and chips a clever ball across goal for Moreno who is tearing in on the other side of the box. He goes for the first time volley, but smashes a poor effort high and wide.

Liverpool denied by the post! Lallana comes in down the inside right channel, sliding a ball through for Origi who made a smart run across goal. He forces an effort on goal that takes a deflection off his marker and almost bounces into the goal, but the post takes it wide.

Moreno clips a neat ball over for Coutinho to run onto but the Brazilian playmaker is flagged offside.

Marco Reus was absolutely outstanding in the build-up to that second. He danced past two or three challenges as he carried the ball upfield before sliding a wonderfully weighted ball through for Aubameyang.

Liverpool were shell-shocked between those two goals, but Lallana now finds a couple of yards of space to run into. He lifts a hopeful ball across goal with Moreno lingering on the other flank, but it's overhit and the ball rolls out of play.

Dortmund have another! Reus slides a terrific ball down the inside right for Aubameyang to chase onto. He has a lot of work to do with Sakho coming across but he hits a wonderful first time strike into the top corner. Mignolet is already beaten as he dives across. Dortmund rampant.

Goal! Liverpool 0-2 Borussia Dortmund (Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, 9)

Dortmund lead! Coutinho's pass to Moreno is a loose one and it invites Dortmund forward on the counter. The ball is played to Kagawa who drives at the Liverpool defence before pinging a pass into Castro. He lifts superb ball over to Aubameyang, with Sakho playing three Dortmund players onside, but his volley is brilliantly saved by Mignolet. No matter, Mkhitaryan is on the scene to follow it up and tuck it home. Terrific from Dortmund.

Goal! Liverpool 0-1 Borussia Dortmund (Henrikh Mkhitaryan, 4)

Aubameyang has his first sight on goal, receiving a throw in with his back to goal before turning and trying to curl one past Mignolet from the edge of the box. Not a bad effort, but he can't find the far corner and it drifts wide.

Kagawa gets his first touch of the ball as he is freed down the inside left channel but his ball across the face of goal is easily swept away by Lovren.

After a minute's silence on eve of the anniversary of the Hillsborough Disaster, we are ready to get underway. Liverpool to kick off.

Both sets of fans belt out "You'll Never Walk Alone" as the teams make their way out onto the pitch. Apparently there is a match tonight, too.

Five minutes until kick-off, here is another look at those teams starting tonight.

Liverpool team to face Dortmund: Mignolet, Clyne, Lovren, Sakho, Moreno, Can, Milner, Lallana, Coutinho, Firmino, Origi

Dortmund team to face Liverpool: Weidenfeller, Piszczek, Sokratis, Hummels, Schmelzer, Weigl, Castro, Mkhitaryan, Kagawa, Reus, Aubameyang

We'll be bringing you goal updates from all four games this evening as they go in, but our main focus will be on events at Anfield. 20 minutes until kick-off.

The draw for the semi-finals of this competition take place tomorrow afternoon in Nyon, Switzerland. It's expected to get underway at approximately 12:30pm (BST) and IBTimes UK will be providing live coverage of that and the Champions League draw which proceeds it.

Liverpool vs Dortmund is one of four quarter-final second leg matches taking place tonight. Elsewhere, Sevilla hold a slender lead over La Liga rivals Athletic Bilbao, while Shakhtar Donetsk looking to dot I's and cross T's at home to Braga. Villarreal secured a narrow 2-1 win at home against Sparta Prague last week, they will look to defend that tonight.

Plenty of these knocking around this evening; Dortmund and Liverpool fans have been drinking and signing all day around the city centre.

With the tie finely poised at 1-1, Jurgen Klopp isn't holding back. He's named a very attacking line-up this evening.

Thomas Tuchel meanwhile has made two changes to the side that were held at the Westfalenstadion last Thursday, with Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Shinji Kagawa replacing Sven Bender and Erik Durm.

BREAKING: Former Manchester United playmaker Shinji Kagawa comes into the starting XI this evening.

Dortmund team to face Liverpool: Weidenfeller, Piszczek, Sokratis, Hummels, Schmelzer, Weigl, Castro, Mkhitaryan, Kagawa, Reus, Aubameyang

Subs: Bürki, Ginter, Sahin, Gündogan, Ramos, Pulisic, Bender

Bold selection from Jurgen Klopp, he isn't holding back tonight. Joe Allen would appear to be the sensible option to replace Jordan Henderson in midfield. None of that tonight, Firmino is selected in his place.

BREAKING: Divock Origi is preferred up front over Daniel Sturridge. Adam Lallana and Philippe Coutinho return to the starting XI as expected.

Liverpool team to face Dortmund: Mignolet, Clyne, Lovren, Sakho, Moreno, Can, Milner, Lallana, Coutinho, Firmino, Origi.

Subs: Ward, Sturridge, Lucas, Allen, Skrtel, Smith, Ojo.

Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel is similarly free of fresh injury problems. Neven Subotic is the only notable absentee with an arm injury.

Liverpool have no fresh injury concerns elsewhere. The Reds are without their skipper Jordan Henderson after he suffered that knee ligament injury in the first leg, while Christian Benteke also remains sidelined.

The biggest selection dilemma facing Jurgen Klopp ahead of kick-off is whether he deploys Divock Origi or Daniel Sturridge in attack. It was the Belgian who scored the critical goal away in Dortmund last week, scoring twice off the bench in the 4-1 win over Stoke City three days later. Sturridge also got his name on the scoresheet in that game, but it may not be enough for him to regain his spot tonight.

There are always difficult decisions. This is more a moment where you can make no mistakes, because everyone is in good shape. It's only difficult for the players to accept. They feel good, they are confident, and if they are not involved then that's a problem. We have more than 16 players in good shape.

"It's not just about formation. We have different possibilities. No final decision until now. We have to make the decision. It's not about how many strikers you have on the pitch.

After last week's homecoming in Dortmund, Jurgen Klopp has the chance to dump his former employers out of the Europa League this evening. Divock Origi's first-half strike left Liverpool in a commanding position in the Westfalenstadion last Thursday, despite Mats Hummels' equaliser on the night, and that priceless away goal gives them a slender advantage going into the second leg this evening.

Whoever progresses tonight will be considered one of the favourites to win the Europa League and secure a place in next season's Champions League. For Dortmund, their place is already secured by virtue of their league position. For Liverpool, it would cap a wonderful turnaround after an underwhelming campaign.
