Bournemouth remain seven points above the relegation zone but that is another vital point towards their target of 40. And it could have been more had Marc Pugh hammers home that first half volley. Eddie Howe will see tonight very much as a point won, despite missing the chance to do the double over Liverpool for the first time in their history.
Full time: Liverpool 2-2 Bournemouth
Liverpool's troubles against sides in the bottom half continue as Bournemouth grab a late point at Anfield. Benik Afobe and Josh King scored either side of Philippe Coutinho and Divock Origi efforts to boost the Cherries' survival hopes, and dent the Reds' hopes of a Champions League place.
We still have five other games in the Premier league tonight. At The Emirates, Arsenal are facing West Ham, while in west London it is Chelsea hosting Man City. Both games are subject of live blogs across the IBT network tonight. You won't miss a kick.
Half-time: Liverpool 1-1 Bournemouth
Very entertaining half of Premier League football. Benik Afobe gave Bournemouth a shock lead after Gini Wijnaldum's brain fade, but since Liverpool have pushed hard while the Cherries have missed some guilt-edged chances. The leveller came via an agricultural move, but Philippe Coutinho finished it off expertly. Pick a winner from here. More of the same please.
Two chances in a minute for Bournemouth to double their lead. Afobe collects a fine cross from Daniels but James Milner steps in in the nick of time. From the subsequent corner, Liverpool are all at sea and the ball reaches Pugh on the volley but the ball flies just wide. The Cherries should really have doubled their lead.
GOAL! Liverpool 0-1 Bournemouth (Benik Afobe)
Mignolet's dancing has deflated Liverpool and has manifested itself into the opening goal, for Bournemouth. Georginio Wijnaldum is pressured inside his own half and his half-hit back pass finds his goalkeeper on his heels and Benik Afobe has the simple task to sliding the ball into the net.
Teams on their way out in each of the four games kicking off at 7:45pm, including at The Emirates Stadium where Arsenal are hosting West Ham. Live updates available here.
Will 40 points be enough to stay in the Premier League this season? Two wins will take Bournemouth to that magic total, with only one side having been relegated with more points in the division's history. The Cherries have not lost since February yet have been dragged into the scrap for survival. Can they go once again against one of the division's so-called big boys?
Elsewhere, it's about the teams from north London. Arsenal host a West Ham side who themselves are facing a late season battle to avoid relegation while in south Wales 17th place Swansea will attempt to put daylight between themselves and Hull against title chasing Tottenham. Coverage of those two games can be found here. Don't say we don't treat you.
You would be forgiven for at least having one eye on events elsewhere in the Premier League tonight, where there are five other games to get your teeth into. The race for the title has been given an added edge thanks to Chelsea's defeat to Crystal Palace and Antonio Conte's side must bounce back against a Manchester City side chasing a top four spot. Pep Guardiola has named his team for the clash at Stamford Bridge with two surprise inclusions; Vincent Kompany for his first start since November and Fabian Delph who starts in the top flight for the first time since May 2016. You can follow the build-up to that game and live coverage here.
Update from Jurgen Klopp on Sadio Mane, who could miss the rest of the season with a knee injury suffered against Everton.
"Sadio is not involved [tonight]. I cannot say more than I said yesterday, but it doesn't look good and that's how it is.
"It doesn't look at the moment like he could play one more game this season, but if somebody wants to surprise me with positive [news] then I am open for this. We will see.
"There is no final judgement. We have to wait for more assessments and then we will know more."
Before the teams drop time to look back to one of the games of the season when Bournemouth beat Liverpool for the first time in their history in a seven-goal thriller back in December. The Reds led 3-1 but Nathan Ake struck in stoppage time to ensure Eddie Howe's men came away with all three points. You can remind yourselves of the drama of that afternoon here.
So how might both teams line-up as we await confirmation of both XIs?
Sadio Mane is out with a knee injury which could force him to miss the rest of the season. Divock Origi could return while Daniel Sturridge is back in contention after resuming training last week. Adam Lallana and Jordan Henderson are longer-term absentees.
Andrew Surman suffered a knee injury against Southampton and may not play again this term. Jack Wilshere should win a recall as a result but Tyrone Mings remains suspended.
No Sadio Mane and no Adam Lallana but seemingly that is no problem for Liverpool, who are now within touching distance of ensuring they are playing Champions League football next season. Victory tonight will open up an eight-point advantage over fifth place Manchester United - with Arsenal able to draw level with Jose Mourinho's side tonight.
Bournemouth are probably another top flight win away from preparing for another season in the Premier League - though they may still need more than 40 points to survive the drop. Eddie Howe has grand designs on signing Jack Wilshere at the end of the season, a sign of their ambitions, but doing the double of Liverpool for the first time ever will be at the forefront of his mind.
Team news and all the build-up ahead of the 8pm kick-off on the way.
