Liverpool will take on Chelsea in the first leg of the Capital One Cup semi-final clash at Anfield on Tuesday evening.

Where to watch live

Kick-off is set for 7:45pm GMT. Live coverage of the game is available on Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 1 HD.

Overview

The last time the two teams met in the Premier League at Anfield, Jose Mourinho saw his side come from behind to win the game 2-1. While in the quarter-final clash of the Capital One Cup, the Reds sealed a 3-1 away win over AFC Bournemouth.

Since the victory over Bournemouth, Brendan Rodgers' side have not suffered a defeat in all competitions. The former Swansea manager will be hoping his side can extend the unbeaten run when they face the west London club on Tuesday evening.

In the last eight games played in all competitions, the Merseyside club managed to win six, while the remaining two games ended in a draw.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have suffered only two defeats in all competitions this season and the latest came on New Year's Day as Tottenham Hotspur registered a 5-3 win over their London rivals.

Since that defeat, the Blues have played three games and have won all of them, while scoring 10 goals and keeping three clean sheets in the process. Mourinho will be looking to keep another clean sheet when Chelsea face Liverpool away from home.

What managers say

Brendan Rodgers: "The opportunity to work with Jose in that period of three-and-a-bit years was invaluable to me and hopefully in some ways I helped him because we had a lot of communication. But of course when you're fighting for the same competition, the friendship..."

Jose Mourinho: "A couple of times it's good fun but to go and go and go, especially when a player like Gerrard deserves respect, we don't need that. He's an opponent I always admired and respected."
