London acid attack: Arthur Collins arrested on suspicion of attempted murder
The 25-year-old was arrested at an address in Rushden, Northamptonshire.
A man wanted in connection with an alleged acid attack in an East London nightclub has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
Arthur Collins, the boyfriend of The Only Way Is Essex reality TV star Ferne McCann, has been wanted by police since the alleged attack in the Mangle E8 club on Monday (17 April).
The 25-year-old was found and arrested at an address in Rushden, Northamptonshire, over the weekend and was being transferred to a London police station for interview.
A spokesman from the London Metropolitan Police said: "Arthur Collins, 25, was arrested at an address in Rushden, Northamptonshire on Saturday night, 22 April, by officers from the Met's Specialist Crime and Operations and Hackney Borough, with the assistance of armed officers from the East Midlands Operational Support Service and Northamptonshire Police.
"Collins has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He will be taken into custody at a London police station in due course."
The arrest followed an impassioned appeal from McCann for Collins to hand himself him in.
Two other men have been arrested in connection with the attack.
Andre Phoenix, 21, has been charged with seven counts of grievous bodily harm. A 24-year-old man was arrested on Friday but was later released from custody.
The alleged attack on the Hackney nightclub left two women blinded among 20 people after a "noxious substance" was sprayed into a crowd.
