London canal murder: Thomasz Kocik charged with killing Polish woman Marta Ligman found in suitcase
Metropolitan Police officers have charged a man with the murder of Polish woman Marta Ligman after her body was found in a suitcase in the Grand Union Canal.
Thomasz Kocik, 38, of Buckingham Road, Brent, will appear in custody at Westminster Magistrates' Court this morning (Wednesday 13 May) after being charged earlier today.
He was arrested on Monday (11 May) with two other men aged 34 and 30, who have since been bailed to a date to be confirmed.
They were arrested after the body was recovered on Sunday 10 May, in the Grand Union Canal, W2.
Although formal identification has not taken place, police are satisfied the deceased is Marta Ligman, 23, a Polish national also of Buckingham Road, Brent. Next of kin have been informed.
