London rapper Grymey D jailed for 15 sex offences including filming sex with schoolgirls
The rapper, real name Daniel Rodriguez, was sentenced to 16 years by a judge at Wood Green Crown Court.
A "predatory" rapper from London, who filmed himself having sex with schoolgirls he groomed on Facebook and Instagram, has been jailed for 16 years. Daniel Rodriguez, also known by his rap moniker Grymey D, groomed several girls, aged 14 and 15, on social media sites, persuading them to go to the house he shared with his family in Hackney, east London, where they were attacked.
Police investigating the 28-year-old discovered four sordid videos on his phone showing him having sex with four children in his home. Rodriguez admitted 15 sex offences at Wood Green Crown Court before being sentenced to 16 years imprisonment.
His crimes relate to seven victims although The Metropolitan Police admit that there could have been more victims. They included five counts of sexual activity with a child, five counts of making indecent photographs, one count of sexual assault, one count of attempting to coerce a girl to engage in sexual activity and three counts of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
Details emerged during the hearing that on one occasion Rodriguez filmed himself having sex with a 14-year-old girl in his home who had arrived wearing her school uniform. On another occasion one of his 14-year-old victims brought a friend to his home who was also 14, and Rodriguez engaged in sexual activity with both of them.
Rodriquez would tell the girls that he loved them on Facebook, Instagram and Blackberry Messenger and was caught after police discovered messages on a 14-year-old's phone suggesting the rapper was in a sexual relationship with her.
Edward Lucas, prosecuting, said on Thursday according to the BBC: "This defendant is predatory. He preyed on young, vulnerable girls around the ages of 13 to 15. He used his experience, charm and his guile and ultimately his force - his force of personality - to indulge in his own perverted activities."
The defence said he "did not appreciate the gravity of what he was doing" but Judge Joanna Greenberg QC said the rapper had deliberately targeted young girls in order to carry out "deviant sexual fantasies".
