Louis Tomlinson drags Brianna Jungwirth to court for joint custody of son Freddie
The singer welcomed his first baby with Brianna Jungwirth in January this year.
Louis Tomlinson is reportedly seeking legal aid so that he can spend more time with his five-month-old son Freddie Reign. The news comes amid reports suggesting that Briana Jungwirth, the former girlfriend of the One Direction star, had been denying Tomlinson access to his infant son.
In order to ensure that the Perfect singer gets to spend as much time as possible with his little son, Tomlinson has reportedly filed for joint physical and legal custody of Freddie from Jungwirth.
According to a TMZ report, the 24-year-old singer-performer will also be seeking a "50/50 split in terms of the division of time each spends with their son." Sources claim that the singer took this step after the Los Angeles-based stylist allegedly became "inconsistent" in allowing Tomlinson to meet his son.
The actor-cum-singer has been vocal about his love for baby Freddie ever since the duo welcomed their child in January. The number of doting pictures of his son that Tomlinson shares on Instagram is a testimony to his affection for the baby.
Speaking about Freddie and the changes that come with parenthood, he had earlier said during an interview that he is accustomed to changing nappies.
"Have I changed a nappy? I'd actually probably changed about a hundred nappies before Freddie because I used to help out with my sister so I have changed his nappy, thank you!" He also revealed that he misses his firstborn when he is away on tours, "But it's cool. I do get Father's Day now," he added.
A People magazine's report further suggests that the singer and his ex had an "interim agreement" for Tomlinson's access to his son. As of now, the singer is reportedly paying his ex $15,000 (£11,144) a month in child support and is also renting a $1m house in Calabasas.
