Lucas Perez would welcome Barcelona's Arda Turan at Arsenal but doesn't expect Mesut Ozil to leave
Spaniard believes that German international will continue at the Emirates ahead of next season.
Lucas Perez has claimed that Arda Turan would be "very welcomed" at Arsenal amid recurrent reports linking the Barcelona outcast with a summer move to the Emirates Stadium. Yet, the Spaniard doesn't expects the Turk to replace Mesut Ozil as he believes that the German international will continue in North London ahead of the 2017-2018 campaign.
In March The Times reported Arsenal were planning a £25m ($32.4m) offer to lure the Barcelona midfielder to the Emirates Stadium due to the uncertain future of both Ozil and Alexis Sanchez at Arsene Wenger's side.
It has since been said the Catalans are also likely to part ways with the Turkish international in the coming summer transfer window after he had failed to make the impact expected at Barcelona since his big money arrival from Atletico Madrid in 2015.
Inter Milan and a number of Chinese clubs have also been linked with his services in recent times but last week Mundo Deportivo claimed that Arsenal remain as the most likely candidates to secure his services.
Lucas doesn't expect Ozil to leave Arsenal during the coming summer transfer window but has admitted that the Barcelona midfielder would be a good addition for the Gunners.
Asked during an interview with Marca Plus whether Turan would fit at Arsenal amid the potential exit of Ozil, Lucas replied: "I do not know. Ozil is the one who fits me (at Arsenal) because he is currently my teammate, but Arda Turan is a great player. I think Ozil is going to continue. He has not told us anything in the dressing room (about leaving). He, Alexis and the other players who are in the last year of their contract are negotiating a new deal and they will know what is best for their future.
But pressed about his opinion on the Barcelona midfielder, he added: "He is a great player and he would be very well welcomed at Arsenal."
