Lufthansa pilots strike: List of flights cancelled across London, Birmingham and Manchester

Almost 50 Lufthansa flights to and from UK airports over Tuesday (29 November) and Wednesday have been cancelled, following the announcement members of pilots' union Vereinigung Cockpit will go on strike from tomorrow.

In a statement, the union said the walkout will affect both short and long-haul flights on Wednesday, while only the former will be affected on the first day of the strike. London Heathrow, Manchester and Birmingham International are the only British airports to be affected by the industrial action, which marks the 15th time Lufthansa pilots have gone on strike since April.

In a statement released on Monday, the German airline said it will prepare a special flight schedule for Tuesday and Wednesday as quickly as possible.

"So far, over 345,000 passengers have been affected by 2,755 flight cancellations during the four days of strikes in the past week," it added.

"The group airlines Eurowings, Germanwings, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Air Dolomiti and Brussels Airlines are not affected by the strike."

However, Lufthansa's code share flights with Austrian Airlines into Manchester will be subject to disruptions and the carrier has advised passengers to check the status of their flights. IBTimes UK has done so to compile a list of flights that will be affected.
