Lumia 930 to Receive Software Update with Fix for Purple Screen Issue
Nokia will release a fix for its latest high-end smartphone suffering from the purple display issue.
Following its market roll out in July, a number of users reported facing the purple tint issue on the Nokia Lumia 930. This happens when the brightness level of the display automatically changes or is set to low.
When the brightness is set to high or medium, the display does not show this, although the purple tint is slightly noticeable with medium brightness. There is an unofficial fix available for this. All you need to do is move the Tint to Green by navigating to Settings>> Display>> Adjust Colour in Profile.
Nokia has now acknowledged the issue. The information comes in courtesy of a Redditor who seems to have tweeted with Nokia Helps about the purple hue issue, reports WMPoweruser.
Great news everyone. Nokia will fix the purple screen issue on the 930 with a FW update
I just tweeted with @NokiaHelps about the purple hue issue on low brightness and they will fix it with a software update no ETA yet. But will be soon i guess, just like the Lumia 900.
According to the screenshot shared by the Redditor, the company is now aware that the display on certain Lumia 930 units exhibits a purple tint.
This issue, as Nokia says, is due to the performance of the display in certain brightness conditions. The company has discovered the root cause of this and is currently working on a software update that will be rolled out to address it. However, there is no information on the particular date of the roll out.
