Lumia Denim update: Lumia 1020 will not get latest camera feature; software update reaches more regions of the world

Technology giant Microsoft recently announced the global roll-out of its Lumia Denim software update which is applicable to users of the Redmond-based company's Lumia range of smartphones.

The update seems on track to fulfil its reachability target of Q1 2015.

The Lumia Denim brings multiple new features, however it seems that users of the Lumia 1020 will be deprived of certain features that come along with the software.

According to a Windows Central report, Lumia 1020 owners will not get the Lumia Camera enhancement feature for their devices, which is an important functionality that should impress amateur photographers.

The above report is confirmed by an official FAQ listing by Microsoft, which states that the "exact contents coming with Lumia Denim vary depending on the device model".

Hardware compatibility issues (with Lumia Denim software) within Lumia 1020 is said to be the reason for the non-availability of the Lumia Camera functionality.

However, the Lumia Denim brings along a host of new features such as Cortana, Live Folders, Glance Screen, an improved Internet Explorer and Consumer VPN for Lumia 1020 users.

The Lumia Camera is compatible with smartphones including the Lumia 1520, Lumia 830 and Lumia 930.

Lumia Denim is also available to users of Microsoft's more recent Lumia 535 (both single-SIM and dual-SIM variants) in more regions including Germany, Spain, Italy and France.
