Lumia Denim with Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 to Commence in October Last Week
Lumia Denim will be released in phases
Windows phone users will receive the new Lumia Denim update from the end of this month.
Lumia Denim combines new enhancements from Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 along with exclusive experience for Lumia smartphones, Lumia 830 and Skype-and-selfie touting Lumia 730 and Lumia 735.
A similar software update for all Lumia Windows Phone 8 users is expected during Q4 2014, following testing and approval by hardware partners.
While there is no official word on a specific rollout date, NokiaPowerUser asserts the Lumia Update is just weeks away.
Quoting unnamed sources with knowledge of Nokia and Microsoft mobile plans regarding update rollout, the report states that the Lumia Denim update will start seeding in the last week of this month through the first week of November. Like always, it will be a phased rollout.
"Lumia Denim update may start rolling out in phases to Lumia devices starting last week of October to first week of November. The complete rollout schedule may stretch to 2 months and it may not be before end of December that it rolls out to all the Lumia devices out there," the sources have been quoted as saying.
However, the timeframe could be subjected to change considering the previous record for availability of update.
The update integrates new Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 features such as Cortana, Live Folders, Apps Corner, SMS merge and forwarding, Snooze Times, Consumer VPN, Mobile Web Site improvements in IE and Store Live Tile, which is exclusive to the US.
Other Lumia Denim key elements are Lumia Camera, and technologies such as Speed, Moment capture, Rich Capture, improved image processing algorithms, Hey Cortana and Glance Screen.
