Malaysia Airlines MH17 'Frequent Flier' Joke Backfire for American Pie's Jason Biggs

Hollywood actor Jason Biggs provoked the wrath of hundreds of fans after making a joke about the Malaysia airline flight that crashed in Ukraine near the Russian border.
The passenger jet carrying 295 people from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur crashed in an area of eastern Ukraine where separatist rebels have been fighting government forces.
In unverified pictures making the rounds online, dozens of bodies appear to scattered around the smouldering wreckage of the plane.
While a number of celebrities took to social media to express their shock and sadness Biggs, who found fame playing Jim Levenstein in American Pie, appeared to make light of the tragedy by attempting to sell his Malaysia Airlines frequent flier miles.

Within minutes of posing the tweet, fans accused the 39-year-old star of being disrespectful.

The crash comes just four months after Malaysia Airlines fight MH370 when missing with 227 passengers and 12 crew members on board.
