Mamadou Sakho says Liverpool squad will cope without Martin Skrtel in Arsenal clash
Mamadou Sakho has said Liverpool have enough talent to cope without suspended Martin Skrtel in the crucial trip to Arsenal while hails Dejan Lovren to replace him should Brendan Rodgers hands the former Southampton star the chance.
The Merseysiders visit the Emirates Stadium six points away the Gunners in a crucial game for the Premier League top four.
Rodgers will be without Martin Skrtel after the Slovakian was suspended for three games for stamping on David De Gea during the 2-1 home defeat against Manchester United on 22 March.
Meanwhile, Steven Gerrard is also suspended for the game while Adam Lallana and Daniel Sturridge are doubt after the duo also were pulled out from the England squad due to injuries.
But with Lovren and Kolo Toure ready to replace Skrtel in the heart of the backline, Sakho believes there is nothing to worry about.
"We are a strong group and we have other very good players. It is true Martin is an important player for us, but now we have to adapt the team and I have confidence about all the players because they all have very good quality," the France international said to Liverpool official website.
"The 11 who start against Arsenal have to stay focused and be ready."
Sakho believes that even though Lovren has had an inconsistent campaign since his summer move from Southampton, he is ready for the challenge, and that Toure is too.
"It's a new club for him (Lovren), new teammates, a new ambience, a new city...everything is new for him and his family," he said. "But now I think he feels better - he feels good, he feels happy.
"The other morning, I spoke with him before training and he feels very good. I think it's important for the player to feel good and for all the players help him to feel better.
"If it's like this, he can play with all his quality - and we know when he plays with all his quality he's a very, very good player."
While speaking about Toure, he added: "I have confidence with Dejan as well as with Kolo, with Emre, Johnson... all the defenders because in all the weeks we have worked together, I have seen the quality.
"For me, one player against 11 can't win - but together we have to help the team keep going."
