Man charged with murder over Stockport baby death
A 23-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a two-week-old baby girl in Greater Manchester.
Emergency services were called to a house on Shaw Road South, Shaw Heath, Stockport at around 20:15 BST on 29 July, following reports that a baby had stopped breathing.
Florence Liberty Mae was taken to Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport, where she died, police said.
A Home Office post-mortem examination revealed she had multiple injuries.
Matthew Higham, of Shaw Road South, was charged with murder on 31 July. He is due to appear at Manchester Crown Court on 3 August.
Florence's family released a statement describing her as a "much-loved daughter" and their "precious angel."
Her mother said: "Florence Liberty Mae was my much-loved daughter and was adored equally by her big sister Amelia, her Ninny and all her family.
"We barely had time to know you, or see you grow and you will be dearly missed. The short time we spent with you was precious and you will always be in our hearts, beautiful girl. Sleep tight our precious angel."
