City Move to Trump Arsenal and Liverpool for England Forward - Report

Manchester City have reportedly made contact with Crystal Palace, as the Premier League champions look to snap up Eagles wonderkid Wilfried Zaha.

The Citizens have offered an initial £12m fee for the 20 year old and a further £3m in add-ons, based on trophies and performances, according to The Sun. City are also thought to be willing to let the forward remain at Selhust Park for the rest of this season as Ian Holloway's side fight for promotion to the English top flight.

Zaha has been in sublime form for Palace this season, with his consistent performances earning a spot in Roy Hodgson's squad for the recent friendly against Sweden. The youngster has already scored four goals and provided three assists in the Championship this season and has been attracting attention from Arsenal, Liverpool and City, while Manchester United and Real Madrid have also been reportedly monitoring the player's situation.

The Ivory-Coast born player, who can operate as a winger or forward, has more than two years left to run on his contract with Palace. Club chairman Steve Parish earlier put a £20m price tag on Zaha.

Zabaleta: Benitez Appointment Might Make it Tougher for City

Meanwhile, City defender Pablo Zabaleta feels his team could have a difficult outing at Stamford Bridge this weekend, after the appointment of Rafael Benitez as the new Chelsea boss.

The Blues sacked Roberto Di Matteo after the 3-0 loss at Juventus in midweek but were quick to appoint former Liverpool boss Benitez as the Italian's replacement. And Zabaleta insists the move could inspire the west London outfit to perform better.

"It's a difficult moment for them, but they now have a new manager in Rafa Benitez. It's a different situation in the Premier League, we are top and play the team that is third, so it is an important game for us," the Daily Mirror quoted the Argentine.

"When they are in a moment like this, it might seem they are easier to play against, but a new manager can make old players fresh again. Benitez has experience in the Premier League so it will be a really tough game for us. We need to keep working hard for our unbeaten record and if we can get three points at Stamford Bridge it would be great for us," Zabaleta added.
