Manchester City 2-1 Arsenal, Tottenham 2-1 Burnley: Premier League -as it happened
The Gunners can move to within six points of leaders Chelsea with a win.
Kick off: 4pm
- Arsenal still without Aaron Ramsey and Shkodran Mustafi for clash at the Etihad Stadium while Santi Cazorla and Per Mertesacker remain out.
- Sergio Aguero and Fernandinho still suspended while Ilkay Gundogan is now expected to be ruled out for several months with ligament injury.
- Pep Guardiola's side are a point behind Arsenal in fourth place.
- Chelsea sit nine points clear at the top of the league.
A woeful week for Arsenal comes to end. After drawing Bayern Munich in the Champions League knockout stages on Monday and defeat to Everton on Tuesday, they have lost again today in Manchester. City leapfrog them in the Premier League table, moving into second, with Tottenham now just a point behind their north London rivals.
City take the lead! It's becoming and Arsenal pay the price for a dismal second half performance. De Bruyne is central to it, switching play wonderfully to find Sterling. He cuts inside, with Monreal backpeddling in a panic and instead of looking for the cross, blasts into the bottom corner with Cech beaten before he can even dive.
City really are here for the taking. Walcott drives forward in from the right unchallenged, skipping past a couple of meek attempts to block him before laying the ball off to Sanchez. He is forced wide but moves the ball back across goal to find Bellerin rushing into the box, but he hammers well over the bar.
Tottenham meanwhile host Burnley at White Hart Lane this afternoon but are once again without Toby Alderweireld. The Belgium international returned from a knee injury last week but a back problem has ruled him out today.
Tottenham team to face Burnley: Lloris (C), Walker, Dier, Vertonghen, Rose, Wanyama, Winks, Dembele, Eriksen, Dele, Kane
Subs: Vorm, Davies, Trippier, Wimmer, Sissoko, Nkoudou, Son
Burnley team to face Tottenham: Heaton, Lowton, Keane, Mee, Ward, Boyd, Hendrick, Marney, Arfield, Barnes, Gray.
Danny Welbeck is a week away from a possible return but Arsene Wenger will have the same squad that lost to Everton on Tuesday to choose from this afternoon.
Ahead of Manchester City we should have the same squad who went to Everton, Nobody (is) back, Ramsey is not back in time but he is closest to coming back. We have some knocks and bruises but they [the squad from Everton] should all be available again.
City are still reeling from the loss of Ilkay Gundogan with the Germany international ruled out for "several months" with a knee ligament injury suffered in the mid-week win over Watford. Yaya Toure could be the man to step into replace him. Pep Guardiola told reporters this week:
You know the reason why he [Toure] was out in the first part of the season, Now he is playing like he can be, like I met him at Barcelona. There's no doubt about his quality. We have him, Fernando, we have Aleix [Garcia], Kevin [De Bruyne] can play in that position too. Fernandinho is coming back."
Team news: Manchester City
Fernandinho and Sergio Aguero remain unavailable thanks to their suspensions with the Brazilian midfielder able to return against Hull City on Boxing Day. Vincent Kompany remains absent due to knee ligament damage, while Fabian Delph is yet to fully recover from surgery on a groin injury sustained back in August.
