Overview
After suffering defeats against Liverpool and Juventus, City bounced back with a 3-1 victory over Southampton in front of their home fans. The result saw Manuel Pellegrini move on top of the table as, one point ahead of third place Manchester United.
City defeated Crystal Palace 5-1 in the last round, which saw them seal a berth in the last eight of the competition. They will be hoping another comfortable win over the Championship side will see them progress to the semi-final of this season's Capital One Cup.
Meanwhile, Hull come into this fixture after a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Derby County in the second tier of English football. It is their first defeat since the loss against Brighton and Hove Albion in Septmeber.
Steve Bruce's side will be hoping they can manage an upset by defeating City in front of their home fans. They have already defeated Swansea City and Leicester City in the last two rounds of the Capital One Cup and should they manage to beat Pellegrini's side, they will make it to the last four of the competition.
