Manchester United Eye Javier Hernandez Swap Deal for Inter Milan Midfielder Fredy Guarin
Manchester United are willing to use their striker Javier Hernandez in signing Inter Milan midfielder Fredy Guarin as a part of the swap deal, according to the Daily Mail.
The Mexican international saw his first team appearances being limited during the last season, while most of his appearances came from the bench. In the last few years, Hernandez has failed to seal a place in the Red Devil's starting lineup.
The Old Trafford club have been linked with a move for Guarin since the January transfer window, while their league rivals Chelsea were also interested in signing the South American midfielder. However, the deal did not take shape and United shifted their focus on signing Toni Kroos, who recently left Bayern Munich for Real Madrid.
United had rekindled their interest in signing the Colombian international after suffering a blow in signing Kroos. Inter are keen on signing a striker to bolster their squad for the new campaign and are in need of a striker.
Guarin has already received offers from Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg and Russian side Zenit St Petersburg. However, the midfielder has rejected a chance to join those clubs and Inter are willing to let their midfielder leave in signing a striker.
Meanwhile, Louis van Gaal has refused to rule out the possibility of a summer exit for Hernandez.
"I will have to see how he plays. I have only seen him under another coach so far. He has arrived today and now I can see him play in a game. Then I can talk about him," the United manager said.
This could only make Hernandez's future more uncertain at United and an offer from Inter could see the Mexican striker leave his current employers in joining the Serie A giants. The Red Devils are in search of a midfielder and they could ask Inter for Guarin to be included in the swap deal for their player.
A swap deal would be ideal for both clubs as Inter need to sign a striker while Van Gaal needs to bring in a midfielder in the ongoing summer transfer window.
