Manchester United injury woes end as Louis van Gaal upbeat about club plans
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is in a great mood ahead of their clash against Southampton on Sunday following news that Ashley Young is the only player currently on the treatment table.
The Old Trafford club have had a wretched season on the injury front, which has seen almost every first-team player suffer an injury at some point during the season so far. But the tide is turning and with the return of Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo, the injury woes seem to be easing out.
Young has been ruled out of action for up to four weeks with a hamstring injury and apart from that all the first-team players are available for selection ahead of their clash against the Saints.
The Dutchman was delighted to have all his players for the first time this season, and has revealed that he will select the strongest possible team to bring home the three points on Sunday.
"I am very happy. We only have one player injured. That's the first time that has happened in my career at Manchester United," Van Gaal is quoted as saying on Sky Sports.
"I have to select the best team and watch the qualities of Southampton and hope I can reduce that quality by our line-up and our game plan."
The former Bayern Munich manager has made it clear that he wants to make United the best team in the world and has admitted that he will look to bring the best players to achieve that.
"My ambition is that I have the best players who can collaborate with each other to form the best team in the world," The Red Devils boss explained.
