Manchester United: Paris Saint-Germain ready to offer Gregory van der Weil as part of Angel Di Maria deal
Manchester United winger Angel Di Maria is reportedly close to leaving the club with Paris Saint-Germain ready to make another move in the summer.
According to the Mirror, the French champions who have been interested in signing the Argentine before he joined the Old Trafford club are set to reignite their interest and are also willing to offer right-back Gregory van der Weil as part of the deal.
Di Maria, who joined from Real Madrid for a British-record £59.7m, has had a miserable first season at United and could be looking for a way out after failing to settle in the Premier League.
After a promising start, which saw him score three goals and set up a further three, the South American star trailed off and scored just once more for the rest of the campaign.
This eventually resulted in Di Maria losing his place in the starting lineup and being replaced by Ashley Young, who made the left wing role his own for the rest of the campaign with the Argentine winger restricted to appearances from the bench.
PSG, who have always been interested in signing him have rekindled their interest and are ready to offer the player an exit and with United in the market for a right-back, the Ligue 1 club are willing to let Van der Weil move the other way as part of the deal.
However, according to the Daily Mail, the Red Devils are not keen on letting their star player leave as Louis van Gaal feels that he could have a better second season after a year of adaptation in England. He has also warned the player regarding his behaviour and believes that he needs to change it to adapt to United's way of playing.
But the Old Trafford club will sanction a move, if the Ligue 1 champions make an irresistible offer or if the player asks for a move due to his struggles in the Premier League.
