Manchester United: Red Devils make contact with Adam Ounas' representatives over summer move to Old Trafford
Manchester United are continuing to strengthen their youth ranks at the club and have made contact with Bordeaux over a move for Adam Ounas, who has impressed after breaking into the first team during the 2015/16 campaign. The versatile attacker, who can play all across the front line made 30 appearances for the Ligue 1 side scoring six goals and providing three assists, which has made the Red Devils take notice.
According to the Mirror, the 20-time English champions are keen to bring the attacking midfielder to Old Trafford in the summer as they prepare for a new era under Jose Mourinho, who was appointed following the sacking of Louis van Gaal. United are aware that Ounas is one for the future but are keen to make a move at the earliest.
The report claims that the Old Trafford club have already made contact with the 19-year-old midfielder's representatives regarding a summer move but will likely have to pay over the odds to tempt Bordeaux into selling one of their biggest prospects. Ounas is contracted to the Ligue 1 club until the summer of 2019, which will give them an edge when it comes to negotiations with interested clubs.
The Red Devils have confirmed that strengthening their youth set-up at the club is one of their main priorities this summer and have already begun recruiting the best young talent from across the globe. Nicky Butt, who was appointed academy chief earlier in the year, had made it clear that there will be multiple signings in the off-season.
They have already tied up deals for Republic of Ireland U16 international Lee O'Connor and United States U19 international Matthew Olasunde, while Netherlands U19 star Tahith Chong has also confirmed his imminent move to Old Trafford after turning down a deal from current employers Feyenoord.
