Manchester United transfer news: Zlatan Ibrahimovic promises to make announcement 'soon'
Zlatan Ibrahimovic will apparently make an announcement about his next move "soon". The 34-year-old striker has been strongly linked with a transfer to Manchester United in recent weeks and while he has remained tight-lipped about his next club, the record-breaking Swede has now revealed fans will not have to wait much longer.
Ibrahimovic is available on a free transfer after leaving Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last season. Speculation continues to surround his future, but Ibrahimovic said the delay is almost over.
"For me, with Manchester [United], there is nothing to say. I feel happy for the moment," the reported United transfer target said, according to the Manchester Evening News. "What the future will be, you will know soon. But I enjoy football. Wherever I go I will be the same person and I will enjoy [myself]."
This comes after Ibrahimovic previously insisted he is relishing the speculation about his future, amid talk of United offering the striker a money-spinning contract. "There is no confirmation," he recently said in response to the United links.
"You are a journalist, no? There is no saying 'yes' or saying 'no' so you will have to have patience. I want you to keep wondering where I will go, keep making stories because I enjoy when these stories go out. When I feel tired I will let you know what my next destination is."
