Manchester United vs Manchester City, pre-season friendly: Where to watch live, preview, prediction and possible XI
Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola will see their sides face each other in China on 25 July.
UPDATE: Manchester United's clash against Manchester City in Beijing has been cancelled due to bad weather conditions, the Red Devils confirmed via their official Twitter account.
Manchester United take on Manchester City in the pre-season fixture scheduled between the two sides at the Beijing National Stadium, Beijing on 25 July, Monday.
Where to watch live
Kick-off is at 12:30pm BST. Live coverage in the United Kingdom will be available on MUTV and MUTV HD.
Overview
United come into this fixture after suffering a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Borussia Dortmund in Shanghai. Henrikh Mkhitaryan moved to Old Trafford from the Bundesliga side earlier this summer and he faced his former club for the first time since leaving Signal Iduna Park.
The Armenian international was on the scoresheet for Jose Mourinho's side, courtesy an unselfish effort from Juan Mata, who assisted for his goal. Mkhitaryan and United's first summer signing Eric Bailly started in both the pre-season fixtures against Wigan Athletic and Dortmund.
City enter this tie after suffering a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich in their first pre-season fixture. They also had a new manager at the club as Pep Guardiola joined the Premier League outfit after his contract expired with the German champions.
The former Barcelona manager's trip to the Allianz Arena for the first time since leaving Bayern did not go as per his plan. City suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat, courtesy a goal from 20-year-old Erdal Ozturk.
Prediction
- Manchester City to win
What managers say
Jose Mourinho: "We are unlucky because the pitch is very bad. The condition of my players is more important than the results in pre-season. It is not a problem for me to lose matches in pre-season. It's a problem for me if there are bad conditions for my players to train and bad conditions for my players to play. So if you ask me for my objective for tomorrow, I have only one — take the players home safe without any kind of injury."
Pep Guardiola: Of course I will shake his [Mourinho] hand. Why shouldn't I? We are polite guys. I want to win. So does he."
