Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: 15-Second Teaser Released
A short teaser has been released by Marvel Studios ahead of the first full-length trailer for its forthcoming sci-fi comic book adaptation Guardians of the Galaxy.
The full trailer will debut tonight on American talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Watch the teaser below...
Guardians of the Galaxy is the first truly original Marvel Studios film since Captain America: The First Avenger in 2011.
It stars Chris Pratt as Peter Quill, a human stolen from Earth in the 80s who has grown up in the depths of space. He forms the titular rag-tag group of unlikely heroes alongside Gamora (Zoe Saldana, Drax The Destroyer (Dave Bautista) and two more very important characters.
Much of the hype surrounding the film has been focused on the bringing to life of Rocket Raccoon, a preposterous character even by comic book standards. He's a brash, gun-totting, bipedal raccoon who doesn't like being called one, and he's voiced by Oscar-nominee Bradley Cooper.
Rocket's partner in crime is Groot, a tree-like alien who only utters a single sentence, "I am Groot". He's voiced by Fast & Furious star Vin Diesel.
The film also stars Bencio Del Toro, Lee Pace, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close, Karren Gillan and Djimon Hounsou.
Directed by Slither and Super cult-supremo James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy is a big risk for Marvel, but one that they may very well pay off big time when it's released on 1 August.
