Maryland: Plane crashes into Gaithersburg house causing a blaze
A plane has crashed into a house in the city of Gaithersburg in Montgomery County, AP reported.
Officials did not immediately confirm whether the incident caused any deaths or injuries.
"We have a lot of work to do, a lot of damage," Montgomery County Fire Department spokesman Pete Piringer told local reporters. "But we do have one plane confirmed down, into a house."
Other reports suggest that two houses were hit by the plane and one of them is on fire.
It is believed that the aircraft is an Embraer EMB-500/Phenom 100 twin-engine small jet carrying up to 12 people, and it was approaching Runway 14 at the nearby Montgomery County Airpark when it crashed.
More updates will follow.
