Meghan Markle's friends worried she will be 'deeply unhappy' as she quits acting career for royalty

Not only has Meghan Markle quit the hit legal drama Suits, but the actress is also said to be giving up her acting career altogether following her engagement to Prince Harry. However, as Markle prepares to trade showbiz for a royal life, her friends are worried that she might end up being "deeply unhappy".

On Tuesday, 28 November, a source told The Sun that the 36-year-old actress has made it clear that she is not interested in acting or any other paid work. Her decision seems to be in light of her latest position in the British royal family – as Harry's bride-to-be.

"Meghan has been very clear that her entire paid showbiz career is now over," the newspaper reported. "She will maintain her agent and PR to field calls and offers, but she is not seeking any acting work and not planning to."

The outlet's source continued, "She understands the commitment required to enter the royal family and she's made peace with the fact she had a very successful seven years on Suits. She doesn't feel like she has anything left to prove."

Markle's complete severing of ties with the entertainment industry is yet to be confirmed. However, her beloved TV role as Rachel Zane will definitely come to an end after season 7.

In a statement released by the USA Network on Tuesday, Markle's departure from Suits was confirmed.

"Following the news of Meghan Markle's engagement to Prince Harry, the beloved Suits star will depart from USA's legal drama at the end of season seven, which returns to the network in early 2018," the statement read.

The network also congratulated the actress as she prepares for royal roles in the future following her upcoming nuptials with Harry.

"We want to send our most heartfelt congratulations to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on their engagement," they conveyed in the statement, adding, "Meghan has been a member of our family for seven years and it has been a joy to work with her. We want to thank her for her undeniable passion and dedication to Suits, and we wish her the very best."

As for the future of her character Rachel and her on-screen fiancé Mike (Patrick J Adams), the network teased that a wedding is in store.

"We can't tell you what the second half of Suits season seven has in store for Mike and Rachel, but we know there's at least one wedding featuring the beautiful Meghan Markle set for 2018!"
