White House Christmas decorations include books 'America in Mourning' and 'Tainted Evidence'
Melania Trump said to have 'chosen every detail' of the decorations.
The Trump family have unveiled the Christmas decorations on display inside the White House, which this year had the theme of "Time honoured traditions".
First lady Melania Trump revealed some of the more lavish decorations for this year, including an 18ft fir tree in its traditional spot in the Blue Room - decorated with ornaments bearing the seals of every state and US territory – and a 350lb gingerbread house in the East Dining Room.
Elsewhere, the White House library features a tree which has been made up entirely of books.
Ahead of the press preview of the unveiling of the decorations, the White House said that the first lady personally chose every detail of the décor, even doing a final check late after the family returned to Washington after having Thanksgiving at their home in Palm Beach, Florida.
So what were some of the book titles Mrs Trump chose to use for the Christmas Tree in her family's first Christmas since Donald Trump became president?
As spotted by an eagle-eyed photographer, some of the books include Robert Daley's Tainted Evidence, Esquire's World of Golf and another unfortunately entitled America in Mourning.
Unveiling the decorations, The first lady said in a statement: "The President, Barron, and I are very excited for our first Christmas in the White House.
"As with many families across the country, holiday traditions are very important to us. I hope when visiting the People's House this year, visitors will get a sense of being home for the holidays.
"On behalf of my husband and Barron, I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and joyous holiday season."
