MetaTrader 5 Trading Platform Certified on GBOT
MetaQuotes Software Corp's MetaTrader 5 Trading Platform has won certification on the Global Board Of Trade (GBOT) in Mauritius. The platform met all the technical requirements specified by GBOT and the company was granted ISV (independent software vendor) status by the exchange, the first international multi-asset exchange in the Indian Ocean nation.
The certification is the latest stage in MetaQuotes' programme of integrating the trading platform with stock exchanges around the world. MetaQuotes Software Corp, a leading B2B software development company established in 2000, said it would encourage clients to consider entering these exchanges.
Gaies Chreis, COO of MetaQuotes Software Corp, said: "We have successfully created an interface that can connect the global broking and trading community to an international exchange like GBOT. With interest in the African continent increasing by the day, our members as well as the users of our software will be able to trade African commodities and currencies and other asset classes such as equities and CFDs when they are launched for trading on GBOT.
"Trading on GBOT will also empower them to mitigate risks due to unpredictable commodity price movements and currency market volatility. We are glad to be associated with GBOT as an ISV and will continually improve our product to create new opportunities for the exchange."
GBOT is the first international multi-asset class exchange from Mauritius that offers futures trading in commodity and currency derivative products including gold, silver, crude oil (WTI), EUR/USD, GBP/USD, JPY/USD, USD/MUR, and ZAR/USD. It claims to be well positioned to offer trading in a wide range of derivative products as well as new asset classes after securing regulatory approval.
After GBOT started trading on its exchange platform in October 2010, it focused on enhancing global connectivity, improving product diversification and creating new asset classes to meet market expectations and requirements. This development will enable all brokers using MetaTrader 5 to seamlessly connect to GBOT and trade in the exchange's product suite of international as well as African commodities and currencies.
Joseph Bosco, MD and CEO of GBOT, said: "We have always believed in providing the best facilities to financial market participants trading on our exchange platform and enabling them to discover the benefits of true price discovery and risk hedging. We are happy to have certified MetaTrader 5 Trading Platform and to have granted ISV status to MetaQuotes. We expect enhanced participation on GBOT by MetaQuotes' members and their traders as well as clients who could immensely benefit from the synergy between GBOT's trading platform and the facilities extended by MetaQuotes."
