MH370 was 'flying toward Antarctica when it vanished'
Flight MH370 was heading toward the frozen wastes of Antarctica when it vanished completely, it has been claimed.
The Antarctica theory has been made in a TV show about the tragedy, which is due to air later this week.
Investigators believe the jumbo jet made three turns which took it in the direction of Antarctica, and soon after disappeared from radar.
The claim was made as the man leading search efforts for MH370 stated he believes it will be found within a matter of weeks.
But Australian Transport Safety Bureau Commissioner Martin Dolan has predicted it will not remain a mystery for long.
"I don't wake up every day thinking 'This will be the day' but I do wake up every day hoping this will be it, and expecting that sometime between now and May that will be the day," he said.
Nothing has been seen of MH370 since it vanished on 8 March last year during a routine flight from Kuala Lumpar to Beijing. All 242 people on board have been declared dead, despite the absence of any bodies.
