Overview
Murray kick-starts his title defence in Miami following the split with Coach Ivan Lendl earlier this week. The world number six directly enters the second round, being one of the top seeds in this competition.
The British number one comes into this game after being knocked out by Milos Raonic in the fourth round of the 2014 BNP Paribas Open earlier this month. Murray won the first set, 6-4, but lost against the Canadian in the subsequent sets, 5-7, 3-6.
However, Murray will be keen to put aside his recent woes as he aims to win his third title in Miami having won it for the first time in 2009.
Meanwhile, Matthew Ebden progressed to the second round after defeating Lukasz Kubot on Wednesday. The Australian went down, 4-6, in the first set but eventually fought back in the second set to win, 6-4. Ebden secured his progress after winning the third set, 6-4, in what was the first clash between the pair.
